I love you, Japan

Thanks everyone for the emails and texts this morning. I’m not in Japan yet. Our trip seems so minuscule compared to the events in Japan. We’d rather lose a few grand compared to our safety. I’m thankful to be home and safe. We were planning on staying in Tokyo, far from the devastation of Sendai, but not far from whatever Mother Nature has planned. Sending hope and prayers to Japan.
One of the reasons I’ve loved Japan is how strong of a culture they are. I know you don’t need a history lesson, but after the devastation of WWII, they pulled themselves up and succeeded to be one of the most richest countries in the world at one time. That’s an amazing reminder of the beauty that is Japan.

thank you for this beautiful reminder. my heart and prayers go out to japan.
i'm so glad you are safe and my prayers are for all the people of Japan.
My friend was also scheduled for Japan. Her concern was the nuclear power plant near Tokyo.. it's said to be leaking. She is also cancelling her trip.Glad you are safe.
Oh I'm so glad you are safe. It's devastating to see what has happened but, I am also amused at how techonologicaly advanced and prepared they were for this type of situation. Japan is a beautiful place indeed. <3Keep safe!xo Fi
thoughts and prayers to all those effected by this horrendous disaster.are you cancelling your trip?
Woah, I'd forgotten you were heading there. I'm so sorry, you must be so disappointed! But better to be home and safe. The devastation is just awful. All thoughts to Japan, such an amazing country.
oh goodness diana. are you delaying your trip or you cancelled all together?
Im so sorry. This is heart breaking. Both for Japan and also for you. I know what it's like to plan an amazing trip. Having it postponed or even canceled is hard. Sending good thoughts =)-Sarahhttp://agirlintransit.blogspot.com/
Glad that you are safe. This is such a tragedy. On a lighter note, I love the image you chose. It's really beautiful & also appropriate.
I thought of you when I saw the news, I hope you are both ok and just delaying the trip – I can't imagine how sad I'd be if I had to cancel

The earthquake and tsunami images are just devastating. I am praying for the people of Japan…
japan is beautiful and it's heartbreaking that this happened. i'm glad you're home safe, but i hope one day when everything is restored that you can go visit and see that beauty in person.
so glad you weren't there during this! beautiful photo you chose.
I was disappointed on your behalf when I found out — I know you were looking forward to this trip. You will be able to go one day, and see how yet again Japan pulls itself out of a disaster with grace.
