Nipplegate Avoided
Greetings OurCityLights People(s),
This is Diana’s husband, Scott, again.
This will hopefully be my final post here, as Diana should be back to blogging in a few days. So that sentence should tell you there is a bit more good news in this post then bad.
Yesterday, as some of you probably know, Diana had her gallbladder removed. Her Pancreas Nipple was free of any stones and the surgeon felt it was best to go in and take out her gallbladder as early as possible. He told her at 9:00am that they’d do surgery that day, and by 10:00am she was already being prepped to go under. Luckily it gave her little time to consider the idea of surgery.
The surgery lasted about an hour. But the anesthesia lasted most of the day—a good thing because she was in quite a bit of pain. At one point she was fiddling with her phone trying to figure out why Fable’s phone number wasn’t on her phone. I told her to do #NUM#, which oddly enough, satisfied her.
The only thing that worried me was Sarah Palin’s Alaska was on the television when I came back from dinner—luckily she was sleeping, so I don’t think there is any long-term damage…probably didn’t help with the pain though.
She was still really sore the next day, but the surgeon said there was nothing else the hospital could do, so it was better to rest at home. She was officially discharged at 4:00pm today. Just like Diana, instead of worrying about her recovery, she ended up buying all nurses and their assistants on the second floor (the floor she was on) a batch of Sprinkles cupcakes each. I wish I could say it was the drugs doing that, but nope, that’s just her way of saying thank you for not killing me.
I was literally at the hospital door getting ready to get my car to pick her up, when someone up front told me to stop, come to the back office, and talk about the bill. Apparently you do have to pay for these kinds of things—they don’t really tell you that until after they cut you open. The good news is we have decent insurance, and didn’t have to go broke with the stay—we also had our deductible met for the year, so I’m going to try to schedule Diana for some sort of test or doctors visit every single day for the rest of the year—really stick it to the insurance company.
Last time I blogged, I started on a bad note and ended on a good one (with cute little kitty’s); today I’ll reverse things by ending on a bad note with pictures of people doing bad things to Hello Kitty. Enjoy, and thanks for all your prayers and emails, and texts. She had needles in both arms all week, she’s a bit sore to start using her arms. Her hugs are worth the wait. I have read her all your comments to her, but she’ll be publishing them soon.

glad to hear she is back home. hope you're feeling better diana!!
Diana-I am so happy you are home safe! Sending recovery prayers your way. Scott-You're a good husband

Thank you for the update, so glad to hear she's out of the hospital and hopefully will be feeling completely better soon. My sis, Anna, had her gallbladder removed about 8 years ago and I remember how scary the whole thing was for her and us. Sending best wishes! PS. Those Hello Kitty pics are sacrilegious!! Especially the one where poor Kitty obviously needs more fiber in her diet…
so glad to hear that she is doing well! what a lovely girl she is, buying cupcakes for everyone…that's amazing!! anyways, hopefully recovering goes fast and she heals up nicely. sending positive vibes and love her way

well i don't know about you but the men's hello kitty panties definitely lifted my spirits! feel better soon diana!p.s. you're lucky to have such a cool hubby!
Surgery is so scary, Diana if you every read this you are very brave to go through this hospitable visit and I am so relieved that you are home safe and sound. You are a very lucky person to have a great hisband, so glad there was no damage from the Sara Palin's Alaska show
good to know she's doing well … & easing the pain with the help of some legal narcotics. just be sure to remind her (as i neglected to realize after my last surgery) that bed rest isn't the perfect time for trying to get all the little things round the house done because you're off work. i learnt that one the hard way! But anyways i ramble … glad nipplegate was avoided & sarah palin didn't do to much long term damage & who needs a galbladder anyways!loving texas chain saw hello kitty!
So glad she's on the mend! Take it easy Diana. Let your husband and friends pamper you a bit.ps- Love the terrible kitty stuff!
Yikes… That must have been so scary! I know a bunch of people who have had to have their gallbladders removed, including my mom… It's not a fun experience. :- Feel better soon, Diana!!!

Diana! I hope you're feeling better soon. Things like this suck but hey, at least you got it out of the way right at the start of 2011 — which means the rest of the year will only go better and better!Feel better, and glad you're doing well!
So glad to hear that everything is okay. Get well soon, Diana!!And those Hello Kitty tighty whiteys? HOT. Especially with the extreme vein-eyness of the model's stomach.
That's so good to hear! It's a pain to have to be in the hospital so soon after Christams (I've been there), but the rest of the year will be so much brighter now that they've cut out the bad parts! Feel better soon!
My heart breaks for you at the thought of your hospital bill. I always take those sorts of things for granted! So glad you're well, Diana. Don't you worry about anything but taking care of yourself.
just wanted to let you know that your blog shows up second in a Google search for "pancreas nipple" and first in Bing. if that doesn't lead to a speedy recovery, then i don't know what else to say.
best news I've heard! I'm so glad Diana is doing better, sending lots of healing love and hoping recovery is as quick & painless as possible<3

I actually KIND of LIKE the hello kitty transformer…haha. Hope you're on the mend! I don't usually pass these along, but I hate January so I thought it'd be fun to "play" and help spread some blog-love! In one of my recent posts, I nominated you for "The Stylish Blogger Award" which asks bloggers to post links to some of their favorite most recently discovered blogs, and YOU came to mind!
If you'd like, you can write a post giving 7 facts about yourself and including the links to some of YOUR new favorites! Then leave them a comment which "passes" the award along! So, dust off your mantle and find a place for this shiny, new award! Love, H.
If I just write out "pancreas nipple" 100 times, do you think it would help your blog get to number 1 on Google? Does anyone ever look at Bing?Glad that you are doing better and that you guys have insurance. Hopefully, it didn't break the bank. And so nice of Diana to give everyone cupcakes! Happy NY to you both,Courtneyhttp://mysocalleddenver.blogspot.com/
so glad to here that you are feeling better…and those hello kitty tighty whitees are awesome.
