One of my goals for 2010 is to read more, but to enjoy it. I speed through books piling on the next one, and I'm in need of bibliotherapy. I knew I wasn't alone here. After a few text messages and emails with fellow bloggers, Slow Readers Book Club came to form. Some of the books we read in the book club may be a little out of our comfort zone, but I need something like this to expand my reading collection. Some of the books we choose may be our favorites, some of them will make us cringe, but those make for great discussions, right?
If you would like to be a part of reading a bit more, expanding your literature, email me, instead of emailing me, sign up here! and I'll add you to a mailing list, and grab a button from any of these, link it to the blog post you write about The Slow Readers Book Club. So far, a few bloggers are already on board. Are you?
The first book we will start with is Jeannette Walls' Half-Broke Horses. On March 4th we will do a review post about the book, and during this time we will be casually discussing it in the email group.
What a great way to get one of your goals going!
*If you blogged about it, post your link in the comment form. We would love to see your posts!

That book looks awesome! I want in!!!
This is amazing! I want in. I was in a book club back home and I loved it but being in a french speaking province I can't join a book club because reading in french is not my strong point.
I'm sending you an email now cause I want IN!!!
I just love this idea! Count me IN!!!!!
Such a good idea. I may have to get in on this.

Ooh, I'm in! Sending an email right after this. Don't know that I'll be able to get a hold of all the books for a decent price up here in Scandinavia though, but I will def give it a try. Great idea!
What a wonderful idea. I've been meaning to do more fiction reading AND writing this year-- but I don't think I can commit to a club. Can't wait to read the reviews though!!!
Yay such a good idea, i'm in! Will email you now and will do a post later today!

I love this idea! I already gave Gabbi my email address to add to the list, but you have it as well. :) I was going to do a blog post on this, but I can't log onto flickr (due to my former employer suspending my yahoo account, I think... which *sucks*, but I've emailed flickr about the problem), so I can't get any of the buttons to share yet. :(
This sounds exciting, it's a shame that my current circumstances mean I can't join it. Will you keep membership open throughout the project?
I am so in on this! :)

it would be nice to take some time out
