one year birthday: the after party {closed}

Ok, so my last post was a little emotional but it's something I've been wanting to get off my mind, (and out of my blog drafts) for months. I hope none of you took it offensively- I just believe this community is worth much more than an uncredited photo and I get all Rosie Riveter about a subject.

I can't believe it's been one year. That's nuts. Here are my goals for 2010 Blogger style:

-New layout
-Outfit posts (yes)
- Less smaller giveaways and more bigger giveaways
-More personal (probably not but imagine the day that'll happen)
-I don't call myself a professional photographer but I'll be taking more photos indeed

One thing I didn't mention in my post is how grateful I am for this blog. This blog has been the motherboard to so many connections. My best friends are across the screen, and just like the Format once sang, the need to fit in is harder when living life from a screen, I believed it at one point. Now, I can't imagine my days not skyping my best friends across the world, using Twitter as a form of communication, and of course, blogging.

Blogging has helped me dig out a voice hidden, opened me up to wonderful people and here's to 2010!

Ok, now the giveaway part: It's a Diana Mini with 3 rolls of film to get you started. My original blog posts were all about Lomography and it's what brought me to begin blogging in the first place. Fitting.

One Year Birthday Giveaway

You have a couple chances to win:

1. You must be a follower. This is a giveaway strictly for my readers. You are the ones that made this year possible, this is a gift for you. It's open globally. Let me know how you read (RSS, bloglovin', Google Follower, etc.)

2. You not only have a chance to be a winner but you have a chance to do your part in humanity. If you donated to Haiti rescue funds, let me know how in the comments below (this is a blog of trust), and I'll enter your name twice. Not sure where to send money to? Here's a great list, thanks to twitter!

You may tweet it (with the Share button below), you may blog about it, but let me know if you did it in this post to keep track of your name. You are welcome to grab the blog button on the side, tell your friends. This is a celebration and all are invited to the party!

Giveaway ends Feb 1.
January is my BLOG birthday month :) I know, I'm a nerd for even bringing attention to it.

CONGRATS on one awesome year of blogging!

Oh Diana this is a great give away! I have had my eye on the mini Diana since it came out. It would go great with my other cameras (my Dreamer Diana is still my favorite and with a 35 mm back on it takes awesome photos!)

I have also sponsored my friend Dee who is going to Haiti with her disaster relief group from Switzerland! She is a nurse but much more she is an amazing women.

Can't wait to see what the next year will bring for your blog :)

You are totally a photographer, and everyone else agrees. Also I tweeted this contest because I think it's great and I gave to Haiti via Wyclef's Yele. I am looking for ways to give clothes and things because I know they need that. I am glad you added the Haiti thing to your contest.

Hello, I'd like to take some time to introduce myself. My name's Stella, I'm italian and though I've come here from time to time I've never commented out of shyness.

I found you through Naomirose. I'm afraid to say I don't use anything as fancy as syndicate, I like to keep oldfashioned bookmarks and come regularly on my own accord.

I love to take photos as well, btw this is my flickr account, I use a dsrl camera, but I've being eyeing diana for a while and I'll give it a try one of these days.
I know what you mean, I don't think I'll ever call myself a photographer, despite of my love for photography. Yours are great though!

I'll spread the word about your giveaway on my twitter (I'm @111ArcherAve btw :)) and yes, of course I've sent my little support through this site www.agire.it

cheers!

Adorable little camera. I am a follower through google reader. I also donated to Haiti through the Clinton Foundation. He went on NPR and gave a list of safe organizations to donate to. The easiest way was to text 20222 with Haiti in the message line. You get a followup text to say "yes" to and a confirmation text. The text automatically charges $10 to your phone account. You can charge up to $30.

I'm a super new follower (via Google) and I'm KICKING MYSELF that I've only just found your blog (thanks to Liss/Daydream Lily for the intro!)

But I'm here now, so all is well. I have Tweeted the giveaway ( http://twitter.com/MsUnreliable/status/7898445406 ), and I've donated to Architecture for Humanity to support their work in rebuilding Haiti (their action plan is here if anyone is interested > http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cameron-sinclair/haiti-quake-a-plan-for-re_b_426413.html )

Congratulations on a wonderful first year, and many more great years to come!

xx Kit

Fairly new reader but loving the blog. I'm subscribed through google reader. As a photographer/blogger with an interest in lomography (but no lomo camera cause i spent way too much on my dSLR) it's always great to find interesting blogs with lomo art. Can't wait to see more of your work.

To be honest I haven't donated anything to the Haitians as yet, but that is only because I've been broke for over a fortnight, get paid again on wednesday and intend to make a donation through the red cross because the work they do is invaluable.

Happy Bloggiversary! I just found your blog and am now following it. I am also following you on Twitter. I've recently become obsessed with photography and would love nothing more than to win this contest. :)

As for the Haiti Relief efforts, I donated $10 to Red Cross and with the help of my students, donated over 100 gallons of water. (I work at a high school in Miami, where several of my students are Haitians who have been personally affected by this tragedy, many of them having lost family members in the earthquake).
