This list was easier than I thought. Unlike my ridiculous music list which was random and exceeded the top ten, here are the top ten movies of the decade.
10. Sunshine
09. Amelie

08. Billy Elliot

06. Pan's Labyrinth

05. The Baxter

04. Once

03. Harry Potter
All of the series.
02. The Lord of the Rings
All of the series.
01. The Royal Tenenbaums

what are yours?

Once is one of my favourites of the year too! The soundtrack is amazing one of my favourite car cd's on high rotation.
Loved Amelie so much, it could be all ten of my top movies. If not, I think the other nine would all be Pixar films.

I want to see The Baxter! Sadly, i've been looking all over the internet and haven't found a working copy. Maybe I'll have better luck at the local DVD rental place (but that's kind of doubtful, since it's quite small...)
I just watched Amelie again the other day with my daughter Lola. such a wonderful movie. and we are HUGE Harry Potter fans- our cats are Harry Hagrid Hermione Bellatrix and Mr. Weasley- so I of course agree with you on that!
Great list! I'll have to check out the ones I haven't seen yet (I keep wanting to check out Pan's Labyrinth!). Amelie and Once would definitely be on my list too. Also, I could not pick a favourite out of the Harry Potter movies - so I'd have all of them too! This is fun, I'm going to think about my list!
I ♥ your list!!! I especially am enamored with the inclusion of the Baxter. Such a fave... I completely picked it because of the cover too. I love Michelle's wardrobe. :)
Wow, wow, wow!! Saw Sunshine - incredible!!! Loved Ameie soooo much - love it love it deeply!!! Am seeing District 9 tonight for the first time!!!! Really looking forward to it now!!! And adore those wacky Tenabaums - choice picks - now have to check out the others!!!
Happy, Happy New Year sweet heart!!
Ahhh I haven't watched The Baxter! I want to so bad. I have to go out and find myself a copy. What other shows really stuck with me? From the top of my head - Broken English, Igby Goes Down and Wendy and Lucy!
Happy new year Diana!
One of the my favourites is Districy 9! I thought that was awesome! I will have to see all the movies listed here as there are a few I haven't seen yet.
Have a wonderful new year!
Well, my list is a little different than yours, but kudos for Once, Amelie, Pan's Labyrinth and Tenenbaums!
Wow- this list is MUCH harder to do than I realized... I had to check out some other top decade movie lists ;) Some of mine include:
Whale Rider
Match Point (a return to Woody Allen's comedic-dramatic form)
Mulholland Drive (the most accessible and beautiful David Lynch movie)
There Will Be Blood (Daniel Day Lewis is amazing)
Sideways
Diving Bell and the Butterfly
The Queen (loved this!)
Y Tu Mama Tambien
Happy New Year dear!!!
I liked Once and Amelie!
Royal Tenenbaums is definiely one of my favourites! So good! And Amelie, *sigh* it just makes me want to live in Paris... Have a happy new year dear. xx
LOVED Amelie! Omg I hated Sunshine though lol. Wtf was that thing at the end??
Amelie and Pan's Labyrinth--the best for sure! Nice list. Happy new year!

Mine:
- Eternal Sunshine from the Spotless Mind
- Amelie
- Little Miss Sunshine
- Garden State
- 13 Going on 30 (it makes my heart warm!)
- Pineapple Express (watched it 3 times in the theater - only movie I've ever done that with!)

- The Notebook (it's a must!)
What a great list. That's so hard to say! Probably quite a few of mine are on your list. Happy New Year!
I loved The Royal Tenenbaums!!!
happy new year!!!!
Once and Amelie would be on my list of favorites too. A few others I'd include: Tuck Everlasting, Sweet Land, Lars and the Real Girl, Ladies in Lavender, but after that I'd really have to put more thought into it. Thanks for reminding me about The Baxter. I just placed a request for it through the library :)
yay for royal tenenbaums!

little miss sunshine.
winter passing.
eternal sunshine.
pursuit of happyness.
royal tenenbaums.
hmmm....that's all i can come up with right now. and these probably aren't the greatest, but mostly just movies that make me happy...for some reason i can only remember movies from the latter half of the decade right now. oh well.
Oh, I wouldn't even know where to start on a list like this!! You've got some really great ones here, though. :)
YES to all but have not seen district 9, sunshine, the baxter, or once (all on queue but the baxter which i'm adding now) and i own pan's labyrinth, but haven't watched it yet!!!!!
