How To Have A Library Themed Wedding Part II
Some of these photos are just our wedding photos, but we wanted to share with you anyways, even if all the photos are not library-themed.
Taken from Scott’s blog….
I wouldn’t say our wedding was library-themed like our invites, but it did have many library elements. Below is one of the 30+ tables; each table was named after a writer that Diana & I like; it had a book by that writer, a framed picture of that writer, and a library card with the writers picture on it; every seat also had a book-themed crossword puzzle.
We had over 300 guests at the wedding, over 500 people at the ceremony. The most difficult was trying to stick to our theme, and being able to make our guests happy. We bought new books from Amazon, but keep in mind, that was part of the wedding budget. I also think thrifted books work just fine.
We didn’t have a guestbook; instead we had small pieces of paper for guest to write notes to us on; these were stuff inside due date slips, and put in a vintage suitcase.
the guys wore Vans and Converse. Can you guess which one Scott is?
i won’t get into details of the dress in this post, but just a quickie on the dress- my wedding dress was completely handmade by my amazing mom. there is lace overlapping the silk fabric, glass buttons, and a bow in the back. the lace was ordered from Jerusalem and the silk was ordered from India, it even still had silk worms in it! More deets later. Enjoy!

I LOVE the dress, even better than it's handmade by your mom! the photos are so beautiful and looks like a lot of fun too.

what a beautiful couple you make!and what a lovely theme, not at all the boring library type : )
Oh, so beautiful! You are beautiful in that dress. Lov JM
It sounds like a super special day, and every picture is just adorable. Wow, 500 people at the ceremony?! I think we had about 10 guests.
Then again, that's just how we planned it to be! Sometimes I regret not making it a more fancy day, but my parents were really freaking out and I just wanted it to be as low key as possible. haha.
OMG so sweet & lovely.
what a sweet, original wedding theme! and your mother is AMAZING for making you that dress! it is beautiful – what a talent!

This is the most brilliant wedding I have ever seen in my whole life. I love books so much and it made me smile that you can incorporate that into a special day like a wedding.I love your dress..you look so beautiful and the fact that your mom made it, the love just radiates.
Scott wore Chucks!! The M&Ms were a cute idea, but kinda sucky that they were expensive.I just love your smile in all the photos.

although jack did an incredible job capturing your wedding, these pictures still doesn't even give your wedding justice.
Ah, part two! I'm astonished at how wonderful and clever your wedding theme was. Yellow and gray make such a refreshing wedding color combination. All the accents are lovely. How incredibly special that your mom made your wedding dress. It's gorgeous! You're gorgeous!
Sorry about the deleted comment above. I made an embarrassing typo
Very cute! They look quite happy.
Ahh, everything looked lovely! Themes at any party is awesome, I say.I cannot imagine having so many people there, though!! Is that normal?

I love your wedding photos Diana!! You're such a gorgeous girl and you and Scott are an adorable couple. I know people throw that around a lot, gorgeous and cute couple
But it's true. The entire wedding is terribly romantic in it's unconventionalness (I made up a word). And your mom made your dress!!! That's so awesome… I love the style, mid length wedding dress is ideal to me.Thank you for sharing!
So lovely Diana! You look a picture of gorgeousness here! …and yellow and grey – superb combo – very imaginative – it must have been such fun!
My word, what a gorgeous wedding. I love the books on the tables & cake (phwoar)! You look so beautiful!
I'm in love with your wedding! The crosswords at the tables make me smile a lot.
Seems like such a fun wedding. I love the men in sneakers and the gray and yellow, very fresh and unusual. You guys kissing behind the book is so so sweet. Do we get to see more pictures of your dress? it looks gorgeous.-indigo
Oh man, I seriously wish I was at that wedding. Soooo wonderful!
So chic. I love this idea. My favorite part has to be the menu and place mat! How genius? ♡,Jessica
oh, haha. we didn't have place mats, we just had the crossword puzzles and the menu was set already, so no menu on the table. it does look like that, though, doesn't it?
Yeah it kind of does, but now that you said that, I totally meant the cross word puzzle in the place of a place mat…and for some reason I thought the one photo album was a menu. Thanks for clearing that up! But still such a cute idea!♡,Jessica
P.S. have given you an award!
So beautiful Diana! You guys are such a charming couple…love all the details down to the the shoes on the guys!xo*
This looks like so much fun! 300 guests, though? Holy moley. Awesome. Plus, you know I have to love the dress with sleeves!
I cannot detail how dearly I loved this post!! I have a feeling that when Jon (my boy) and I start planning our wedding, I will revisit this post again and again. I love everything from the colors to the decor to your dress (which is one of most wedding dresses I have seen).
The one word that keeps coming up is "gorgeous"! The decorations are gorgeous, your dress is gorgeous, YOU looked gorgeous! I loved the big hair.

i love the ideas you had for your wedding, the small details that are so important. you make a very cool couple!
What a lovely wedding! My husband and I were married a month ago. I worked in a bookstore, and we both read a ton. Our centerpieces were stacks of (mostly vintage) books tied with ribbon (not pretty ones were covered with pretty paper), and we also names tables after authors. But 500 people… we had 100 and I thought that was huge! Congratulations and good for you!
I was planning a wedding last year and saw many fun ideas. This however is one I had not seen! It's too cute and such a great way to express a fun similarity between the couple to the guests!
All of you looks so wonderfully hip! And the cake, the dress, the table decorations all look amazing. I would love a cake like that. It looks like the kind guests will remember forever.
wow, who would have thought having a library-themed wedding?! i love it. i also love how the men wore vans and converse.

ummm, please tell me you had this wedding featured on offbeatbride.com. It's one of my fav websites for off the cuff weddings. These pictures made me drool, as a girl who won all her school awards for library work I love this theme. Only wish I'd thought of it first.Bravo!
You had just about the coolest wedding ever. I don't think anyone will ever top it.

OMG. I can't wait until you go into the dress details! Beautiful Bride.
Can't believe i missed this post, and i'm not sure you'll be aware that i'm leaving a comment, but i just had to say how gorgeous you looked on your weeding day!Everything looks amazing. i'm just seeing these for the first time now.LADY YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL!what an amazingly unique and beautiful wedding.gosh you're awesome.
I am a bookworm and I am nuts about the library theme. The books and framed photos of the author is a great idea for the centerpieces. I also love the notes to be placed in the date slips. Very crafty of you guys to come up with this idea. Thanks for sharing.
Vanc and converse? … they actually pulled it off well. Like the theme.
